  3. =     TAWUG is releasing 3 disks at the same time this month, >
  4. <57/58, 59/60/ and 61/62.  I will also be releasing the next ?
  5. =3 1/2" disk 56..60.  Since there are 3 disks at once, I will 1
  6. just have one AWE column for all three disks.  
  7. <     We have several interesting things this month.  Dwight ;
  8. 9Stewart, a photographer, has sent us a disk side full of <
  9. :photography - business- templates.  They include a lot of <
  10. :general business templates that he uses in his business.  >
  11. <They are on disk 61/62.  Richard Marchiafava has several of =
  12. ;his "Advisor" files, including one to change the cursor in ?
  13. =AppleWorks to any ASCII character.  I am currently following >
  14. <a solid apple cursor instead of the underline cursor.  It's 
  15. a lot of fun. 
  16. =     There are a lot of reviews also.  There are several new ?
  17. =things coming out and I hope you enjoy them.  Keep your eyes >
  18. <open for Beagle Bros. new Time-Out software.  I am supposed >
  19. <to get review copies from Beagle Bros. shortly.  Will write :
  20. 8up the reviews as soon as I can.  I have also written a >
  21. <couple of reviews for A+ Magazine.  They should be out in a >
  22. <month or so.  They are on Printrix, a "personal typsetting" =
  23. ;type software.  It takes AppleWorks files and does amazing 9
  24. 7things with them.  There is also a review of Zipfiles, ?
  25. =templates that can be used as desktop accessories.  Since A+ ?
  26. =is going to publish the reviews, I can't use them.  However, =
  27. ;I modified the reviews for TAWUG and you will find them on 
  28. disk 62.  
  29. :     With the release of these disks, we have used up our =
  30. ;backlog of contributions.  In order to keep going, we need >
  31. more.  Please send your patchs, reviews, information, etc.  
  32. =     There has been one major change with the issue of these >
  33. <disks.  The TAWUG catalog won't fit on the same disk as the >
  34. <members.  The member listing was also about to overflow its =
  35. ;side.  So from now on there will be separate disks for the ?
  36. =catalog and membership.  I have left the listing of regional 9
  37. 7reps on both disks, so that new members that order the =
  38. ;catlog will also get a listing of the regional reps.  Even <
  39. :though the membership file is currently one sided, I will :
  40. 8still have to charge $3 for the disk, since most of the >
  41. <expenses stay the same.  Eventually it will fill up.  Maybe :
  42. 8I will put the bibliography file back on the membership ?
  43. =disk.  What do you think?  You'll find a couple of different $
  44. bibliography files on these disks.
  45. :     What do you think about the membership files?  Up to 9
  46. 7now, we have sent them to anyone with $3.  Should that <
  47. :continue?  I personally don't think I am getting any junk <
  48. :mail from this particular list.  I had hoped that members ;
  49. 9would use the list to contact others in their area or to <
  50. :correspond with other members with similar interests.  Is 9
  51. anyone doing this?  I'd like to get feed back from you.
  52. 9     I know that I have mentioned this before, but it is ?
  53. =worth repeating.  I used to accept advanced orders for TAWUG <
  54. :disks so members could keep current.  But that became too >
  55. <much of a hassle trying to keep an account of all the money >
  56. <and disks, so I stopped it.  However, if you'd like to keep ?
  57. =current, just send a SASE.  When a new disk is ready, I will <
  58. :send you a printout of the catalog and a new order form.  =
  59. ;Then with your order, just include a new SASE for the next <
  60. :disk.  This keeps you current and isn't much of a problem 
  61. for me to keep track of.
  62. =     I see by today's mail that The Main Menu has folded.  I <
  63. :always felt that they blew it from the start by being too >
  64. <expensive and then not being able to decide on a price.  It <
  65. :has been taken over by The Exclusive Reference editor who =
  66. ;bought out Q-Mar.  The newsletter is now called AppleWorks =
  67. ;Journal, but it looks exactly like the Exclusive Reference ;
  68. 9newsletter.  I have had a subscription to both, but feel 7
  69. 5that it is over priced.  Also, Home and School Works :
  70. 8newsletter has changed it name to The Works.  (And with <
  71. :Software Touch people buying out Beagle Bros. maybe it is 5
  72. 3something in the air.)  The Works is a nice little 9
  73. 7newsletter for teachers and other users and only costs ?

  76. 8     Keep up the good work with AppleWorks.  I'm seeing =
  77. ;rumors of upgrades to AppleWorks again - all kinds of wild <
  78. :rumors.  My guess is that any fancy changes to AppleWorks =
  79. ;(mouse enhancements, spelling checkers, etc.) will be //GS <
  80. :only because of the memory and speed changes.  I'm really >
  81. <looking forward to the Time-Out series.  This is one of the 9
  82. 7most exciting changes to AppleWorks in a while.  It is >
  83. <expensive, but if it all works according to plan, it should 
  84. be worth it.
